RECESS AND LUNCH CLUBS
Each day at recess and lunch, students have the option of participating in a variety of clubs. Each focus on physical activity, the arts, or general games. Clubs provide structured recreation time and help to develop friendships and social skills. Clubs rotate each day and include Intramural sports, Arts and Crafts, Wii Dance party, Construction Club (Lego, K’Nex, models…) and classroom games. Something for everyone to have a fun recess!
AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
Team Sports and Extracurriculars
Brighton offers students the opportunity to participate in a variety of after school activities. These include Cross Country Running, Boxing, Golf, Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, Hip Hop, Bead Craft, Karate, Mad Science, iCAMP Video Game Design, Yearbook Committee and Friday Night Social Club. Some activities run for the whole school year and some activities are term-based or seasonal. Some programs may have fees if they are offered by outside instructors. There are separate activities for elementary and secondary school students.

BRIGHTON THE WORLD CHARITY

In order to help our students develop a concern for others and translate that concern into action, Brighton students participate in a number of different fundraising and charitable activities during the year. World Vision Students use toonies collected on our Casual Days and at our dances to support our World Vision sponsored child named Judylen in the Philippines. |
SPECIAL EVENTS
Terry Fox Run
Each year our students participate in the annual Terry Fox School Run. We have been named in the top 20 per capita schools under 200 in Ontario for fundraising for four of the last five years.

Thanksgiving Food Drive Students collect and donate non-perishable food items for a local food bank as part of their Thanksgiving Assembly.
Remembrance Day Assembly
The Brighton Remembrance Day Assembly is very special. Each November as we invite a member of the military (past or present) to join us and to give our students an overview of the military in Canada and the role it plays today.
Holiday Concert
Our Annual Holiday Concert is a favourite, featuring all of our students in a musical presentation for parents, friends and family.
Earth Day
Students are involved in various Earth Day projects. These include planting and maintaining an organic garden in the playground, community clean-ups, and a clothing collection recycling program.
HOUSES & SPIRIT DAYS
Students are assigned to one of our four houses: Christie, Edison, DaVinci or Newton. They participate in intramural games and Spirit Day activities in their house teams. Houses are lead by teacher-sponsors and help students to build team skills and develop new bonds. Spirit Days are held each term, with various themes and activities, such as western day, pirate day, Minute to Win it, the Olympics etc.
