Our Admission Process

Our process starts with getting a complete picture of your child and their learning needs. We’ll start with meeting with parents to get as much information as possible. It’s helpful to have access to recent Report Cards and IEPs for this discussion. We’ll then do a short presentation for you about our school and our special education programs.

Next, we’ll book a visit for the potential student to come into the school and spend a half-day with the class. At the same time we’ll do some placement assessments to determine the best fit for Learning Groups placements.

We’ll meet with parents immediately following the visit/assessment to let you know the outcome of the assessments and visit. Then we’ll send an offer of acceptance which is due back within two weeks.

“Struggling students are going to gain more with very explicit instruction than with discovery – if they had discovered it, they wouldn’t have been struggling.”
