Our “Momentum” Kindergarten Special Education Classes

Junior & Senior Kindergarten

Our “Momentum” Kindergarten special education program is designed for our youngest learners in JK and SK who may need some extra help, attention and support to prepare them for success in Elementary school. Our special education classes equip them with the prerequisite school-readiness skills for success in a grade 1 classroom.

Our interactive classes provide hands-on, multi-sensory early learning curriculum using interactive play, group activities and small group instruction to teach classroom and group skills, foundational phonics, number skills, and narrative development as a precursor to written expression. We focus on developing essential classroom skills such as social-emotional self-regulation, cooperation, empathy, and problem-solving.

We work with the curiosity and creativity of our young learners in a supportive, nurturing environment to support and direct their natural potential and ‘momentum’.

Our Kindergarten program hours are from 9:00 – 3:00 each day.

To prepare for success in elementary school, our Kindergarten students learn:

  • Letter recognition and pre-reading skills
  • Letter sounds and introduction to blending

  • Oral language development
  • Narrative expression and organization
  • Listening & following directions
